We have translucent and reflective type of Hybrid/Metal/PET film
and newly developed polycarbonate/meltforming.
It is possible to assemble the disk with reinforcement, double-sided tape etc. and mass production at China plant.

1. Hybrid (translucent/reflective)

High accuracy metal type is realized by using nickel clad material for hybrid type.

Technology highlights

  • As Ni layer improves accuracy, high accuracy and high definition etching is possible.
  • As it has nickel clad structure, each metal layer is etched and difference between upper and lower aperture can be made with high accuracy.
  • Bar code error is within max. 0.008 on concyclic.
  • Bar pitch tolerance is within 0.003 and circularity within ±0.01.
  • Ref: high contrast between reflective and non- reflective.
  • Ref: compared to film product, insusceptible by humidity
  • Ref: reflective area more than 60% and non-reflective area less than 10%.
  • Ref: minimum bar code width 0.05 is possible.

2. Metal (translucent)

Metal (SUS) is processed by photo etching to make encoder disk.

Technology highlights: Fine processing <Glass master type>

  • SUS304 planarity sheet for photo etching is used.
  • Minimum bar code width is around 0.07(t=0.04)
  • Bar pitch tolerance within ±0.002, max and min difference of bar code tolerance in the same lot within 0.02.
  • Center run-out within 0.01, circularity within 0.01 is possible.
  • Internal dia. accuracy range is within 0.03 (0.01 is possible when finished with a reamer.)

  • SUS304 planarity sheet for photo etching is used.
  • Minimum bar code width is around 0.08(t=0.05)
  • Bar pitch tolerance within ±0.003, max and min difference of bar code tolerance in the same lot within 0.04.
  • Center run-out within 0.015, circularity within 0.015 is possible.
  • Internal dia. accuracy range is within 0.04 (0.01 is possible when finished with a reamer.)

3.PET film (translucent/reflective)

Fine pattern is printed on the PET film base to make encoder disk.
Assembly with reinforcement, double-sided tape and plastic hub etc. is also available.

Technology highlights

  • High precision of minimum bar code width0.01(pitch 0.02) is possible.
  • Achievable bar pitch tolerance within±0.002, bar code area tolerance is within±0.002
  • Center run-out within 0.015, internal diameter within±0.01, circularity within 0.01 is possible
  • Concyclic bar code difference error is within 0.005.
  • Rate of change by temperature 1x 10-3%/℃.
  • Rate of change to relative humidity 1% is 1x 10-3%.
  • Aluminum deposition for reflective type. Reflective rate 60%.


4. Polycarbonate type (translucent/reflective)

Trying to achieve the same precision as glass scale at low cost.

  • Crashproof and splinterless
  • Fine and high precision
  • High heat-resistance(120℃)
  • Both transparent and reflective types are available
  • Non-penetration bar code made of alminium is formed.


5. Melt-forming type(reflective)

Integrated technogly of nickel electrocaxsting and etching process.
Pcocessing accuracy of electrocasting is maintained and high precision product of t=0.1 or more is available.

  • Achiebable bar code tolerance ±0.002
  • Duty ratio 1:1 is possible
  • Reflective area 65% or more and non-reflective area 10% or less.
